Yes, it was a great stage wasn't it! I had to use all my parental cunning to get the kids out of the lovely fresh air and back home from school so I didn't miss too much... our tea suffered a bit due to the distraction, but it was worth it.

PS Dave, shouldn't you/we be working?Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04158217994984823461noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1965374840845851026.post-43451103560094967522010-07-07T10:00:03.690+02:002010-07-07T10:00:03.690+02:00That's a really great write up Tom - cheers. For me it really injected a dose of majesty and gravity into the early part of the Tour. I don't mean to denigrate the usual 'flat early stages of the Tour', but yesterday's stage really elevated this Tour, I think - the association with the one day Classics - and seeing the Grand Tour riders on Classics territory - has somehow lent the event additional weight. And to have 'shaken the pot' in th is way, before hitting the mountains, is wonderful.Davehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00862823649587365939noreply@blogger.com
